How to Export your Report and How to Analyze the Data
Step-by-Step Instructions for Exporting your Site Topic report and utilising that data
Step 1: Export your report
Open your Site Topic Report.
On the top middle of your view, you will find an export button.
Click Export to generate a file containing:
• Top Labels Data: A breakdown of labels by search volume, impressions, clicks (if Google Search Console is connected), competitive traffic, and keyword count.
• Keyword Data: A detailed view of keywords, their search volumes, associated label groups and other necessary data.
Step 2: Analyze the Top Labels Data
Review the Top Labels tab:
• Use the bar chart provided to visualize the data
• Apply filters to focus on specific subsets of data
• This reduces the table size and updates the bar chart automatically.
Step 3: Analyze the Keyword Data
Review the Keywords tab:
• Freeze the first row and first column to make it easier to browse the data, this allows you to scroll through the data while keeping the headers visible.
Step 4: Identify Opportunities for your Site
Use the exported data to identify missing pages or new content opportunities
• Example: If a certain label or keyword has many product pages but no category page, consider creating a new category page.
Look for patterns in the data:
• Example: If certain materials (e.g., “gold”) or styles (e.g., “knee-high boots”) have high search volume but limited content, prioritize creating pages for these.
Step 5: Create Filtered Reports for Clients
Customize the exported data to create client-friendly reports:
• Remove unnecessary tables or focus on specific label groups (e.g., materials, styles).
• Highlight key insights, such as high-volume keywords or missing category pages.
Use the data to explain how clients can expand their site
Step 6: Automate and Streamline the Process
If you want to automate the creation of new pages based on the data, consider using tools like newpages.io.
• This tool can help you quickly generate and publish new pages.
